Why do you need Food Safety Training?

If your staff aren't properly trained or instructed in matters of food safety you leave yourself open to formal action for not complying with current legislation. Furthermore, it is a well established fact that well trained staff are more motivated to practise food safety and attain higher standards. Businesses that have a well established training regime as part of their food safety culture have found they avoid problems caused by poor food safety practises and therefore receive less complaints about their business. They also attain higher customer confidence ratings and score higher in their areas "scores on the doors" scheme.

Food safety training not only helps to protect your customers, it makes good business sense.

Why Choose RSA?

bullet

Experience - Many of our trainers have come from a food safety enforcement background. This gives us the advantage of knowing how to deliver the practical training that you need, without going over the top.

bullet

Choice - We deliver a large range of food safety training courses, nationally. You can choose from a range of off-the-shelf courses accredited by CIEH and Highfield Awarding body for Compliance covering all disciplines of food safety.

bullet

Tailored - We can design completely bespoke safety training courses to match your company’s specific needs. We can even design food safety videos/DVDs or interactive training courses for you.

bullet

Cost-effective – For in-house courses we simply charge you for the trainer (and any certification costs external accrediting bodies may charge). This means you can train lots of staff without incurring large costs.

What courses do you offer?

We offer a full range food safety and hygiene training courses, providing both bespoke food safety training and nationally recognised qualifications in food safety.

Our experienced training specialists can design and deliver the perfect programme to meet your needs, for the boardroom or the shop floor in any type of organisation.

If you can’t see the food safety training course that need on our website, just contact us and we should be able to help you.

Where are the courses held?

At a location to suit you. Most clients prefer to hold the training in-house on their own premises but we are happy to run courses for you off-site, perhaps in a local hotel. We have our own training suites in Northamptonshire, Central London and in Kent which you would be welcome to use.

Do delegates get any form of certification?

All the nationally recognised courses conclude with an examination or assessment (optional). Successful candidates receive certificates from the awarding body.

Certificates of attendance or achievement can be issued to delegates attending all other courses.

How soon can you deliver?

Usually within 4-6 weeks depending on the course required and current availability of our trainers.

What is the cost?

Prices vary according to course to be delivered. We charge for training development and delivery on a daily basis, and will provide you with a written quotation before work begins.

Discounts are available where higher volumes of work are placed. Our standard daily rate for training is £775.

Nationally recognised courses have additional registration and certification fees. These are advised in advance and passed on at cost.

What training methods do you use?

We use a variety of methods during a course, depending on the subject and the course objectives.

Our philosophy is to “train by doing” which means that, wherever possible, we include practical exercises. This enables delegates to put the theory into practice, and see at the same time how it relates to their own workplace. This makes them feel more able and confident to use their newly-learnt skills when back at the workplace

Who does the training?

We have many experienced, qualified food safety trainers. We select the most appropriate trainer for the course content and the delegate group. All trainers undertake consultancy work and can bring that experience to the classroom, citing real workplace examples to illustrate and reinforce learning points.

arrowWhat is the CIEH?

CIEH is a professional and educational body that is dedicated to the promotion of environmental health. It seeks to promote the highest possible standards in the training and work of environmental health professionals.

The CIEH advises government departments on environmental health and safety, and is consulted by them on proposed legislation relevant to the work of environmental health professionals. The CIEH is the professional body for Environmental Health Officers.

In their role as an awarding body they offer qualifications at various levels in food hygiene, health and safety, environmental protection and training skills.

arrowWhat is the Highfield Awarding body for compliance?

Highfield Awarding body for compliance (HABC) is an independent awarding body that is authorised by the Regulatory Authorities (Ofqual, DCELLS and CCEA) to award Health & Safety and First Aid qualifications.

Formed in 2008, HABC was established to provide qualifications in sectors where trainers and corporate organisations expressed a need for high leves of customer service and quality. All of their qualifications are of a equal status to those provided by all other awarding bodies.

Working closely with the sector skills council the qualifications are therefore relevant and fully cognisant with industry and regulatory standards and are recognised by Environmental Health Practitioners, enforcement officers and auditors alike.
